DERRY, NH (WMUR/CNN) – A family in Salem will never forget Tuesday’s storm, and for good reason.
A husband helped his wife deliver their new son at home during the height of the storm.
"Couldn't believe I had to do it myself but, you know, sometimes you just have to take care of things and get them done," said Chris Alexander, the proud father.
During Tuesday’s storm, it quickly became apparent that Logan John Alexander wasn’t going to wait for a doctor or even a paramedic.
"By the time we were about to get out the door the baby said, ‘Nope can't go, we’re coming now, Dad.’ So, had to call 911 and the lady talked me through it, and I had to deliver my own son," Alexander said.
Alexander helped his wife, Lisana Alexander, deliver their second child on the bathroom floor of their home.
"I've been told I did great. She did great, I thought. So, we worked together, and – a great experience for a mom and dad to deliver their own child," Alexander said.
The baby’s grandfather didn’t doubt his son’s ability to help in such a tense situation.
"He’s always calm when you need him to be so,” said David Alexander, father of Chris Alexander. “He’s calmed me down when I needed to be calmed down, so I wasn't afraid of him being there doing what he needed to do as a dad.”
