HARPURSVILLE, NY (WICZ/CNN) - They were stars on social media, and now people are coming from all over to see April the Giraffe and her new baby.
It was opening day Monday at the Animal Adventure Park in upstate New York.
The day went down as one of the biggest opening days the park has ever had.
Some coming from as far away as Hamburg, Germany.
“I'm from Tampa, Florida and I came here because I wanted to come see the giraffe and the baby,” Debbie Rummel said. “April, Taj and Oliver. We've been watching them on the internet ever since February. The day she was born we decided we're going to make a drive up there."
Park officials said around 1,000 people came through the park Monday.
As one said, April Mania is still going strong.
