(RNN) – Apple announced it might need to replace a limited number of built-in batteries in 13-inch MacBook Pros with non-Touch Bars. Some of the batteries are expanding, but it is not a safety issue.
The affected computers were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017.
Apple has a serial number checker on its website so you can check to see if your computer is affected.
To get your battery replaced free of charge, find either an Apple store or a certified Apple service provider, or you can mail in your computer. If you’ve already paid to repair the issue, contact Apple for a refund.
The repair doesn’t extend the warranty of the computers.
