(CNN) - Tech giant Apple on Tuesday revealed a new "budget" iPad targeted toward students.
CEO Tim Cook and other Apple executives showed off the device at a school in Chicago.
It's the same size as the traditional iPad and costs $299 for schools and $329 for consumers.
The company also talked about software features designed specifically for teachers and students, as well as a series of apps for the classroom.
Apple is fighting to take back market share in classroom devices after losing ground in recent years to devices like Google's Chromebook.
