DALLAS (RNN) - Several loose pigs forced the closure of a section of Texas interstate Thursday, as police officers helped to round up the animals.
The pigs were being transported by an 18-wheeler when it crashed into the median on Interstate 45, fell on its side and caught fire. The animals made their way out of the trailer, with some going as far as a half-mile away before responders started to corral them.
Aerial view from NBCDFW showed at least one rancher on scene with a trailer, and he and the officers were attempting to get them inside. Workers appearing to be from animal control also arrived to assist.
CBSDFW reported the driver was not hurt. No information on the cause of the crash has been released.
