MOUNT RAINIER, MARYLAND (WJLA/CNN) - A Maryland man returned home from an international trip to find his home flooded by his toilet.
Howard Stanback returned on Wednesday to find his home covered in feces after a sewage malfunction.
"When I walked in, all I saw was black," he said. "Everything was black. It was completely black. All that black stuff, it was feces."
Stanback is a renter, and he isn't happy with his rental office's response.
"Their response to this was ridiculous," he said.
His unit is located at the Kaywood Gardens Apartments, which is handled by a property management company called Kay Apartment Communities. The same company that is facing several lawsuits after the explosion that killed seven people at the Flower Branch Apartments last year.
Stanback said the company paid for him to stay at a hotel, but he is frustrated with the lack of communication between him and the renters.
