Alberto's heavy rains cause Cuban bridge to collapse

Posted

TAGUASCO, CUBA (Cuban State TV/CNN) - You're about to see video of two of the luckiest people on Earth.

Before Sub-Tropical storm Alberto slammed into the southeast, it drenched Cuba.

The rushing waters of the Zaza River in the town of Taguasco were too much for one bridge to handle.

On Monday, it collapsed right in front of two people who attempted to walk across it.

They were seconds away from plummeting into the rapids below but were likely able to turn around in time.

According to Cuban media, the destroyed bridge is vital for land communication between Aaza del Medino and the provincial capital.
