Posted

LYNN, MA (RNN) – Firefighters on the scene of a four-alarm fire north of Boston that has destroyed the apartment building and injured one woman.

Most of the residents were out of the building when the firefighters arrived at 4 p.m. ET. The injured woman, who lived on an upper floor, was taken to the hospital with burns.

After an hour, firefighters evacuated the building because the building might collapse.

“It’s going to collapse before we leave here, I guarantee it,” Lynn Fire Chief James McDonald said to WBZ. “That roof is going to come in, we’re going to be here all night.”

About 100 firefighters, including some from nearby communities, responded to the fire at the 18-unit building. Twenty-eight people are displaced from the fire.
