(RNN) - Actor Powers Boothe, best known for portraying villainous characters in the television show "Deadwood," the movies "Tombstone," "Sin City" and "The Avengers," has died. He was 68.
The longtime character actor's publicist told the Associated Press that Boothe died at his home Sunday of natural causes.
Fellow actor Beau Bridges sent out a tweet about Booth on Sunday:
It's with great sadness that I mourn the passing of my friend Powers Boothe. A dear friend, great actor, devoted father & husband.

Boothe won an Emmy in 1980 for his portrayal of notorious cult leader Jim Jones in the made-for-TV movie "Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones."
