TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Friday night looks look like they'll stay on across the Big Bend and South Georgia despite a threatening Hurricane Matthew.
Good thing for a rivalry set in Tallahassee, as North Florida Christian looks to beat Florida High for the first time since 2011. The drought is something not lost on the Eagle program, and they are hungry for a win.
Florida High walked away with the overtime victory last season, and they look to keep the streak going this year.
"This is a great rivalry game that we've been playing for a long time," said Florida High head coach Jarrod Hickman. "We're excited to get the chance to play it at home."
The Seminoles are coming off a District loss, while NFC is perfect on the year.
"We're going to have to protect the football, we're going to have to tackle well, we're going to have to pursue to the football, and we're going to have to be good on special teams," said Eagle head coach Steve Price on how they'll stay perfect come Friday. "Those are thing that historically, Florida High has done very well, and that's how you win football games."
"We'll have to play good defense like we were earlier in the season, and then put points on the board," said Hickman. "That's one thing we haven't done. We've moved the ball very well all year long, but have not scored inside the redzone."
Friday's match-up is slated for 7:30 at Florida High.
