SNEADS, Fl. (WTXL) - The Sneads Pirates, to quote head coach Bill Thomas, were humbled last season. They were bit by the injury bug early, and went 2-7 on the year. This season, coach said he loved the off season work, noting sometimes stumbling makes you better.
Thomas has twelve seniors leading this squad, most of which were claimed by those injuries last season, and Thomas said they are the most disciplined and football smart group he's ever had at Sneads.
"Some of the key seniors we lost last year, we lost them early on in the season, so I guess the transition started getting made last year," said Thomas of the experience of his senior class. "We're going to take it one week at a time, we're going to be the most disciplined football team we can be, and the hardest working team we can be, and we're going to try to survive one week at a time."
Sneads kicks off the regular season at Cottondale on August the 24th.
