SNEADS, Fla. (WTXL) - At Sneads High School, the Pirates are pretty exciting about their offense, as they return ten starters. Offense, isn't the only place where Sneads is stacked, as they're returning nine on the defensive side of the ball.

Head coach Bill Thomas is entering his fourth year as head coach of the Pirates, and said the kids have worked hard this off season, taking just one week off all summer.

Sneads, 5-5 last year, a result Thomas not happy with, but with an experienced group this time around, they're ready to hit the field.

"I don't take losing very well at all. That means half the season I was miserable," he remembered. "This time last year, I knew we were young. This time last year, I wasn't ready for football season to start. I had just lost one of my best athletes to injury, and there was a lot of challenges coming into last year. We were pretty youthful. This year, boy I'm ready for football season this year. I'm excited. I'm glad it's finally here!"

Sneads is at Liberty County for preseason action on the 19th. They open up the regular season at home against North Bay Haven on the 26th.
