TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - High school football teams have been working in the heat for at least a week, and on Saturday, the North Florida Christian Eagles hit the field in the heat, and in pads for the first time.
The Eagles with a new head coach in Steve Price, but NFC's winning tradition, not unfamiliar to Price, as he was a longtime assistant before this season. It's no secret the Eagles have some talented players to replace, but Price said he isn't worried.
"We have a great group of young guys. First of all, we have a great group of seniors that have been here for a long time and they're dedicated to NFC and we're excited about them," he said Saturday morning. "They're going to have a great senior year and then we have a great group of young guys around them that are coming up. They're maturing everyday and getting better everyday. I think their best days are ahead of them."
The Eagles have their first test August 19th when they take on West Gadsden in a preseason match-up. Their first regular season game is at home on the 26th against Deerfield-Windsor.
