TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - This spring, four of Leon County's public high schools got new head football coaches. Lincoln was one of them, as Quinn Gray took over the reins of the Trojan program.
Gray inherits a Lincoln team that went 5-4 last season, a team that fell in the first round of the playoffs in a close loss to Columbia. They'll have to replace quarterback Chris Brimm, as well as their leading rusher.
Gray said they've worked hard all summer to do just that, pointing out that he's liked their work ethic, and he's ready to see what they can do this fall.
"We have a good mix of young and older guys," he said. "I think will end up being a tremendous thing for us, simply because of the experience you'll need later on and down the season, and some of the youth that you'll need to make sure you're continuing to build for the future. I think that's the biggest thing we've seen as a coaching staff this summer that we can really hang out hat on."
Lincoln opens the regular season on the road at Niceville on August 25th.
