MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) - In South Georgia, Colquitt County was 49 seconds short of winning a State Championship. They haven't forgotten, as head coach Rush Propst has made sure to line the locker room with signs that say 49 seconds.
The Packers, as they do every year, are loaded with talent. Coach Propst said all the returners haven't forgotten those 49 seconds either. Coach addinging that this group has to figure out how to finish games and stay consistent.
The Packer's running back core has Propst excited, as hee has two D1 talents to run the rock. Colquitt again playing in that Corky Kell Classic, and coach says a tough slate is essential to their success.
"To open up with somebody you're going to beat 55-6, I don't like that," he said. "I think at my age now, I won't even go to work hardly that week if I know we're going to play someone we're going to beat the heck out of. I don't even like to schedule those games. I'll offer our schedule up to anybody over the last five years because it motivates me."
Colquitt is set to play McEachern at this year's Classic on August the 18th in Atlanta.
