THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - While some high school football teams have a few weeks left to get ready for the start of the 2016 season, the Brookwood Warriors open up the 2016 campaign in just a few days.

On Friday, Brookwood travels from Thomasville to Montgomery, Alabama, where they'll face Trinity-Barnes in the Cramton Bowl, a game head coach Shane Boggs looks to win to get momentum going for his team.

Brookwood plays in the tough 3-AAA in the GISA, and Boggs said instead of being in the mix, they are ready to take it all.

"I've always thought that if you're not getting out of bed trying to be the best at what you're doing, then you're doing yourself a disservice," he said. "We've got a bunch of hungry guys here that are aiming for the top. The good news for us, it's kind of a good news bad news, but two teams from our Region, Deerfield and Valwood ended up playing for it all. We'll have a great barometer of where we fit in when we get through Region play."

The Warriors return five starters on offense, six on defense, and while some key guys are gone, several skill players are back. They take on Terrell at home for their first home game on the 19th.
