Blountstown, FL (WTXL) -- After finishing 9-3 last season the Tigers still want to get over the hump of two difficult losses to Port. St. Joe, including a season ending loss in the regional finals.
"We want to finish," head coach Greg Jordan said. "Last year we went (9-3) and we had a good season. We had two tough games with St. Joe and didn't make it through the regional finals, so this group wants to be there playing Thanksgiving week for region finals and that's kind of what we are talking about."
The Tigers lost 13 seniors from last year's team including their starting quarterback Chasen Roulhac, but they return most of the other skill positions. Also, veteran backup quarterback Bryson Horne returns to start this year.
"We return a good bit of skill from last season so the biggest thing for us is just continuity and fundamentals right now," Jordan said. "We have alot of new kids in new places we are going to do some different things defensively. It is exciting this time of year."
Blountstown opens the season against against Walton on August 26th. The Tigers have their rematch against Port St. Joe scheduled for October 21st .
