CRAWFORDVILLE, Fl. (WTXL) - Across the Big Bend, there are a lot of talented high school volleyball teams. One of those teams is the Wakulla War Eagles.
Wakulla is 8 and 2 so far on the season, and on Monday, hosted North Florida Christian for their final tune-up before they head west for the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix set to open this weekend.
Wakulla is one of just 96 teams invited across the country, and the ladies are ready to go show what they're made of.
"They are extremely excited, I think this is a first for Wakulla County," said head coach Elizabeth Andrews-Potts. "I have some that have never been on a plane, never left Wakulla County, so um it's going to be really fun, and I hope they enjoy it, they deserve it. We got an invitation and I don't even know how that happened, but we were like yes we are going, they raised the money all summer and they worked their butts off, and um we leave on Thursday morning."
The ladies kick off play at the tournament on Friday.
