CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) - At Wakulla High School, basketball signings are pretty rare for the War Eagles. There have been less then five in the last fifteen years, and Austin Everheart is happy to be among the select few.

The guard signed a scholarship with University of Mobile on Thursday, a NAIA program that competes in the Southern State's Athletic Conference.

Everheart averaged just over 17 points and nearly seven assists per game this year for Wakulla, and he said he's proud to be making history, and getting to play in college.

"It's very exciting being one of the few people for basketball at Wakulla High to be able to sign, it's a big honor," he said. "The whole time I was there, I just got a good feeling from the players and the coaches. I love the campus and they got all the stuff I want."
