FLORENCE, Ala. - Valdosta State will move on to the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs with a 33-31 win over North Alabama. In the game the Blazers established a new school record for rushing yardage with 395 yards. Overall, VSU tallied 629 yard of offense, which ranked as the fifth-highest total in school history.
North Alabama finished the contest with 523 yards of offense, but managed just 12 yards on the ground, which led to a 34:48 to 25:12 in time of possession for Valdosta State.
Kickoff for next week's second round game between the Blazers and Lenoir-Rhyne will be Noon.
