Cleveland, MS (WTXL) -- Cedric O'Neal plunged into the endzone from 7 yards out and gave Valdosta State the 40-34 win in triple OT over Delta State. O'Neal finished the day with three touchdowns and 190 yards. O'Neal is now the program's all-time leading rusher with 3,907 rushing yards.
"Breaking this record with these guys, the offensive line, Coach Dean, and all of my friends, I couldn't be happier," O'neal said. "A huge shout out to our offensive line for sticking together through three overtimes and some frustrating moments tonight. They stuck together to help us come out with a win, and I credit this record to our O-line," O'Neal added.
The VSU defense just as clutch. It forced six turnovers in the game. It's Valdosta State's first win at at Parker-McCool Stadium since 2005. VSU is now 7-2 and still pushing for the playoffs.
