Valdosta, GA (WTXL)-- The Valdosta Blazers are officially in the Division II Football Playoffs. VSU begins the postseason against Carson-Newman College in Tennessee Saturday afternoon at noon. VSU hosts as the four seed. Carson-Newman is the fifth seed.
The Blazers closed the regular season with a 39-21 win over Florida Tech. Valdosta State head football coach David Dean said leading up to the season-finale that it was a must win. Despite trailing 21-20 in the 3rd quarter, the Blazers closed the game with three straight touchdowns. Now they are ready for another postseason run.
