VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State's baseball and softball doubleheaders against Mississippi College, originally scheduled to be played in Valdosta on Friday, have been moved to the campus of ABAC in Tifton, according to an announcement made by the Valdosta State Athletic Department Thursday evening.
The baseball doubleheader is now scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday afternoon while the softball doubleheader is now scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start. Both doubleheaders will be played at the Red Hill Athletic Complex on the ABAC campus.
Both teams are currently slated to return to Valdosta and their home fields to complete their respective three-game series on Saturday, with both teams scheduled to play a single game beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Softball's Senior Day will now take place on Saturday following the conclusion of the series. Both Fran Johnson and Courtney Albritton, who have been with the program since the 2012 National Championship season, will be recognized by their coaches and teammates following the nightcap.
The 2015 baseball seniors, Bryant Hayman, Kevin Cruz, Dominique Smedley, Jayk Graham, Mike Reed, Zac Goodno, Jared Stanley, Cameron Tewksbury, and Justin Guy, will be recognized prior to the start of Saturday's contest.
