HAHIRA, Ga. (WTXL) - This week marks the second round of the playoffs for teams that compete in the Georgia High School Association. For football teams in the Independent School Association, it's Championship week.
The Valwood Valiants take on Trinity Christian Friday night in Macon for the AAA State title. The Valiants are on the hunt for the second title in three seasons. They fell in the Final Four last year, and that memory isn't one they want to experience again.
"This is a fun week. There's a lot of things going on," said head coach Ashley Henderson. "There's a lot of radio, there's a lot of interviews and things like that. It's fun. This is what it's all about. We've dictated when our season ends, and that's all you can really ask. How it ends is on us from here on out. How we prepare this week, because in the end, it is fun. It's a great experience, but we're preparing to win another football game."
Friday night's AAA State Championship game is set for an 8:00 start at Mercer University.
