VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta State checks in at No. 5 in the first NCAA Super Region 2 Football Region Ranking of the season, announced Monday by the NCAA.
The Blazers have some familiar company atop those rankings, as four Gulf South Conference teams made the top six, which is the number that will eventually make the 2014 DII Playoffs. North Alabama holds the top spot, followed by Delta State at third, VSU fifth, and West Georgia sixth.
Valdosta State travels to West Alabama for a Thursday game this week. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
