VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta State kicked off camp Friday morning and the guys have a chip on their shoulder this season.

Valdosta State, coming off an uncharacteristic 2017 season where they finished 5-4, was picked Thursday to finish fifth in the Gulf South Conference.

Head Coach Kerwin Bell noted 60 guys showed up everyday to summer workouts and that work ethic has continued through day one of camp.

"They came and met with me yesterday about what they want out of this year," said Bell. "The things they want to see done and the way we want to make sure we leave no stone unturned."
