VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta State Blazers kicked off day one of fall practice on Tuesday, and expectations are high in Title Town.
Head coach Kerwin Bell wrapped up year number one with the Blazers with an 8-3 mark and an appearance in the postseason.
This team is poised for another great year, as leading rusher Cedric Hollingshed returns, as well as both quarterbacks and Dallas Baldner, who totaled over 500 reception yards a year ago.
"This first week is all about making sure everybody gets caught up into what we're trying to do with our base packages," said Bell. "That's our goal right now, is just really detailed this week, let's get everybody on the same page, make sure we come out this week, really know what we're doing both offensively, defensively, and our schemes."
"I was so excited to be out here and I talked to other guys I mean, it's been great to just come back out on the field and sling the rock," said Adam Robles, who along with Roland Rivers, look to steer the offense under center. "We expect to be a lot better this year than we were last year, and like I said we need to go faster, we need to be physical, and we're expecting to score a lot of points so it's going to be fun."
The spring culminates with the Blazers annual Spring Game, which is slated for Saturday, April 8th at 2:00.
