With little Levi Dykes by their side, the Valdosta State Blazers open their 2018 campaign in impressive fashion on Saturday night defeating Albany State 45-14.
The Blazers offense was impressive from the get-go, Redshirt-sophomore Quarterback Rogan Wells found the end zone in the first few minutes and Valdosta State never looked back.
The Blazers put up more than 400 yards of offense while the defense limited the Golden Rams to just 239.
Wells was impressive on the night, throwing for 176 yards and three scores while Jamar Thompkins found the majority of the success on the ground. He carried the rock 7 times for 128 yards and one score.
The Blazers now stand 1-0 and they will travel to Waycross next Saturday to meet Fort Valley State.
