VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta State football team is hard at work this summer, and the summer months are a time head coach Kerwin Bell calls critical in getting ready for the fall.
He said he's happy with that he's seen so far, and adds the first day of training camp, August 6th, is quickly approaching.
On tap for the next month? Making sure everything is in order, so when August does get here, the Blazers will be ready to go.
"This whole game is about trust. You have to trust each other," he said. "Coaches have to trust the players, players have to trust the coaches. We have to believe in each other. The more relationships you build, and the closer that you get together and they believe in each other, and understand the common goal that we're trying to obtain and how hard we need to work to reach that goal."
The Blazers open up the 2016 season at home against Albany State on September the 3rd. Kickoff is slated for 7:00.
