Valdosta High Handles Tucker, Brings State Championship #24 Back To Titletown

ATLANTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta High football team pulled off campus Thursday bound for Atlanta. The goal? To win a State Championship. It'd be the program's 24th, and their first since 1998. To accomplish that, the Tucker Tigers stood in the way in the AAAAAA title game.

The Wildcats took the early first quarter lead, and never looked back. J.R. Ingram made it 14-0 with a catch in the endzone late in the first, and Davis Baldwin made it a three possession game just before the half, draining a 44-yard field goal to make it 17-0.

Tucker added a touchdown in the third quarter, but it was too little too late. Valdosta wins their 24th State Championship in school history with the 17-7 final over Tucker.
