GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- University of Florida head coach Will Muschamp announced on Sunday that he will be making changes on his coaching staff following yesterday's conclusion to the 2013 season. Offensive coordinator Brent Pease and offensive line coach Tim Davis will not return for the 2014 season. There is no timetable set for hiring replacements.
"I have a lot of respect for Coach Pease and Coach Davis," said Muschamp. "They are both good football coaches and even better people. There have been a lot of unfortunate circumstances this year, but that is part of the game sometimes. I want to thank each of them for their contributions to the program both on and off the field."
"I am grateful for the opportunity to come to the University of Florida and work with a bunch of great coaches, administrative staff and players," said Pease." I know we came up short of our ultimate goal, but I will carry on knowing I gained valuable friendships and relationships during my time here."

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A person familiar with the situation says Florida has fired offensive coordinator Brent Pease after the program's first losing season since 1979.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because it has not been officially announced.
Pease was let go Sunday, one day after the Gators (4-8) ended the season with a 37-7 loss to rival Florida State.
The move had been expected for weeks, as the losses mounted and it became clear coach Will Muschamp would make changes on the offensive side of the ball.
Pease became the scapegoat for a dismal season that included a dreadful offense. The Gators rank 112th in the nation in total offense.
