TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - On Thursday, two North Florida Christian athletes signed college scholarships, as Katelyn Wood and Matthew Dickey inked with the University of North Florida and Chipola for softball and baseball respectively.
Both have enjoyed stellar Eagle careers. Wood is a seven year letter winner, with a career batting average of .418, while Dickey is the 95th ranked right handed pitcher in the country.
The two were excited about signing, and even more excited about the future.
"I've been dreaming of this day since I was a kid," said Wood. "I always thought about signing and this day, and it doesn't feel real, but it's real and it's crazy."
"I just felt like I was home," said Dickey of Chipola. "You go in there, you get drafted. You're competing with the best competition. Overall, it's just a great school."
