Two Mitchell County Football Players Sign Scholarships

Posted

CAMILLA, Ga. (WTXL) - National Signing Day was a hit for South Georgia and North Florida this year. Close to two dozen schools celebrated signings and on Friday at Mitchell County, two more athletes were added to the Class of 2018 signings.

Anthony McIntyre and Devin Vicks made things official, with McIntyre choosing to play linebacker at Eastern Arizona College next season, while Vicks is headed to West Virginia Christian.

Both athletes credited their time in Camilla for the opportunity to continue playing.

"It helped me grow, basically made me a man," said Vicks. "It helped me get along with others and helped me teach my brothers how to react to certain situations on the football field."

"I had some good leaders when I was in the 9th and 10th grade, so that helped me to be a leader and lead those guys my 11th and 12 grade years," added McIntyre.

McIntyre and Vicks leave quite the legacy in Camilla. They're the first class to win two Region titles with the Eagles since 1992.
