TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - To have the chance to continue your athletic career in college is the goal of any serious high school athlete. Tuesday at Leon, two Lions saw those goals realized.
Emma Long is off to Georgia Military College, where she's part of the first signing class for the new girl's golf program at the Junior College. Rosie Marshall will run cross country at Montreat, an N-A-I-A College in North Carolina.
Both ladies say they are excited to continue their sport at the next level.
"Georgia Military has a really great tradition and it's the first girls golf program this year," said Long. "It's like making history like they like to say. I'm really excited about that."
"When I started running, I feel like every kid has this dream of continuing and having one of these signing days," reflected Marshall. "For it to actually come and put the pen to the paper, it's a dream come true and I'm very thankful and humbled. I know it wasn't just me but a lot of people behind me."
