HAVANA, Fla. (WTXL) - Two senior East Gadsden girls basketball players put pen to paper on Monday, as Dondrea Harris and Shenecia Bethea both signed with L.B. Wallace out of Alabama.
The duo helped lead the Lady Jags to Lakeland and a Class 4A State Semifinal appearance this year. Harris led East Gadsden with 16 points in that Semifinal game, while Bethea grabbed ten rebounds and pitched in nine points.
"It's most definitely a dream, it took hard work," said Bethea. "Head Coach Diane Frost-Walker, she gave us the tools we needed to go that far, it's a good opportunity, and we have the chance to move on."
"It's a big dream," agreed Harris. "None of my momma's children did it, but I'm the baby, so I ended it great."
Both girls are the first athletes under Coach Frost-Walkers four year tenure as head coach to sign college scholarships.
