TU Makes the Cut for Final Two Rounds at Nationals

MESA, Ariz. – The No. 13 Thomas University men’s golf team shaved 22 strokes off its first round total to card a 316-294 – 610 through 36 holes at the 68th annual NAIA Men's Golf National Championship held at the Hilly Desert Course of Las Sendas Golf Club.

TU is tied for 11th after the second round, making the cut to play on the final two days of the event.

Junior Joe Bannan is tied for sixth after carding a 3-over 72-73 – 145. On Wednesday, Bannan totaled two birdies and four bogeys to go along with 12 pars in his second round.

Senior Brian Stockman is tied for 45th after cutting four strokes from his first round, recording a 78-74 – 152. Stockman carded a pair of birdies in his second round.

Junior Sam Ledbury dropped 13 strokes from his first round, posting a 1-over 72 on the second day for an 85-72 – 157, which ties him for 81st. Ledbury birdied Nos. 5, 6 and 7 on his front nine Wednesday.

Sophomore Dylan Miranda is tied for 94th with his 81-78 – 159 and junior Harry O’Garra cut 18 strokes from his first round, posting a 93-75 – 168.

The Night Hawks tee off from 9:20-10 a.m. on hole No. 10 Thursday morning for the third round of the National Championship.
