TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Tis the time of year to talk about high school signings, and a triple celebration was held at Leon Thursday afternoon.
Soccer stand-outs Liney Brantley and Emma McGibany signed with Appalachian State, a dream school for the two friends. The duo has played with keeper Clare Keenan for over a decade, and on Thursday, she made things official with Coastal Carolina.
"I feel like a lot of people they sign and it's great, but I feel like it makes it a touch more special to sign some girls with girls I've grown up playing with," said Brantley. "We celebrate me, but we're celebrating them also and their accomplishments too."
"It's going to be a challenge and it's going to be an adventure, but we can lean on each other and I'm glad I'm going into it with a buddy," said McGibany.
"It's kind of scary but it makes me so excited to know that we did this together," added Keenan. "We're all part of each other's journey and we get to finish it up together too."
