TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee Leon Babe Ruth baseball has a long successful tradition of winning.
Two teams won State this year, the 14 and 15 and under groups, both looking to inch closer to the World Series.
But up first? Regionals are this weekend and they're hoping to keep that winning tradition going strong.
Check the first stop on the road to the World Series off the list.
"It was really exciting. We really did our best," said Nic Taylor.
The Tallahassee-Leon's best, has them playing at Regionals this weekend, one step closer to the World Series. And they're not alone. The TLBR 14's punched their ticket to Regionals too.
"It's not travel ball, you have to survive to advance. You have to win to move on," said Mike Harrison. "That's what they've understand, that's the first thing we talked about the first day."
Here's to a lot of big innings next week as both teams, look to continue the rich tradition that is Babe Ruth Baseball in Tallahassee and get closer to adding another World Series crown to the five the organization has already won.
"It feels awesome to represent your city and feel like the whole city's behind you and help you out and you really get to play with that Tallahassee on your shoulders, right there on your chest, and it's a lot of fun," said Jaxson West.
Representing Tallahassee in two different age brackets, and they'll be rooting each other on, from a distance.
"We're twenty hours away from them, but we're excited to watch them and hope they do a great job," said Harrison. "They have a good team, coach Kelly does a good job and we'll be cheering for them to advance as well."
The 15's start play on July 24 in Longwood, while the 14's are in Virginia.
