TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - On Thursday night, five area boys soccer teams looked to stay alive in their hunt for a State Championship. Regional Quarterfinal match-ups took the pitch Thursday, and the Maclay Marauders faced off with Christ's Church Academy.
Maclay scored early and often, winning 8-0 to secure their spot in next week's Class 1A Region 1 Semifinals, where they will host St. Joseph, who knocked out West Gadsden 2-1.
In Class 2A, District 2 runner-up Florida High hit the road to Pensacola Catholic. The Seminoles trailed 1-0 at halftime, but came back firing in the second half, winning 2-1. Florida High will travel to Wakulla Tuesday in a rematch of the 2A-2 title game, as Wakulla defeated Rutherford 6-2.
In Class 4A, the Lincoln Trojans saw their season end, as they fell 4-2 on the road at Niceville.
