THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - Thomasville basketball standout Reggie Perry has a list of goals saved into his cell phone that he wants to achieve.
Signing a college scholarship was one of those goals. He accomplished that in November. Becoming a McDonald's All-American is a goal he checked off Tuesday.
Two weeks ago, McDonald's announced the 24 boys selected to this year's All-American squad, and on Tuesday, Perry received his jersey.
He is also making history, as he is the first ever McDonald's All-American out of Thomasville High School.
"Me being the first, it's really a blessing," he said Tuesday. "I was just thinking about it when I was sitting up there before I gave my speech, that's when it really sunk in. I was like wow, I'm the first form Thomasville to become a McDonald's All-American. That's one of the reasons I came to Thomasville, to put Thomasville on the map."
The 2018 McDonald's All-American game is set for March 28th in Atlanta, Georgia. Perry will be a part of the West team.
