TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Earlier this week, four Thomasville football players signed college scholarships. On Friday, it was Bulldog baseball standout Buck Bennett's turn to make things official.

The pitcher signed with South Georgia State College, a junior college in Douglas, Georgia. Benntt is 7-2 in his final season on the mound as a Bulldog, with 38 strikeouts in 41 innings of work so far this season. He's also got a bat, hitting .304 with 18 RBI.

Bennett chose South Georgia State because of the coaching, and said he's excited to continue playing ball after high school.

"It feels great it's like a relief. It's something you work for since you were a little kid," he said. "It's a dream come true. I'm going to the next level. It'll be hard to move on. I've been here since my freshman year. I love this place. I love it. It'll be something new, just next step in my career."
