THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - The Thomas University men's basketball team started off their season on the right foot Tuesday night, picking up a win. The ladies take the floor for the first time on Saturday, but Thursday night, all about a little fun.

The Night Hawks hosted a Homecoming Pep Rally to pump up the local fan base for the upcoming season, and both coached agreed it was a good time to get everyone involved.

"This is the first time we've ever done a Pep Rally and you know the student support was good," said third year head coach Coretta Brown. "This is just a time for us to come out and have fun before we're on these sidelines and I'm screaming up and down and yelling at them. "

"This is my favorite time of the year," said Brent Crews, who's in his first season coaching the men's team. "Football season is getting ready to end, basketball season is beginning. Practice is getting a lot easier and all the fun begins competing."

Both team's first home game is set for November 11th, when Brewton-Parker comes to town. The women tip at 5:30, men at 7:30.
