TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Thomas University softball team is one of just 40 teams left in NAIA softball. The Night Hawks are World Series bound, and opening round play starts Monday for the ladies, who are ranked 12th in the country.
They're the Sun Conference regular season and Tournament Champs, but what they really want? A National title, something that hasn't been brought home to Thomasville since 2004.
Even with all the accolades this season, they still feel like there's more to prove, and as long as this group plays TU softball, coach says they'll be just fine.
"The way I always tell them, I don't care who is in the other dugout," said Bill Wilson, who's been at Thomas since 2009. "We play the game the way we are capable of playing the game, take care of our business, we're going to be successful. There's nothing you ever have to do different when you step on this field that you have to do against anyone. Just play our game. When we do it, we have speed, we have power, we have pitching, we have defense. We have the whole thing. They are very, very good."
Thomas plays Houston-Victoria on Monday at noon ET time in Mobile for game one in their double elimination bracket.
