GUYTON, Ga. (WTXL) - The Thomas County Central baseball team split with South Effingham in the first round of the playoffs to force Friday's "if necessary" game.

Central started off strong, and didn't let up, winning 4-0 to secure a spot in second round action next week.

Thomas County Central is one of nine South Georgia teams still in the hunt for a State Championship. Colquitt County and Lowndes represent AAAAAAA, Valdosta is moving on in AAAAAA, while Cook County and Thomasville are still alive in AAA and AA respectively.

In A-Public, Pelham, Lanier County, and Clinch are all in the second round as well.
