HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Texans have signed unrestricted free agent fullback Greg Jones.

The 6-foot-1 Jones is the third free agent to sign with Houston since Friday, joining safety Ed Reed and punter Shane Lechler. Terms of Jones' contract were not disclosed.

The Texans needed a fullback after James Casey signed with Philadelphia after free agency opened.

Jones has played his first nine NFL seasons with Jacksonville. The Jaguars drafted him in the second round in 2004. Jones helped Jacksonville running backs rush for 100 yards in a game 37 times.

Jones ran for a career-high 575 yards and four touchdowns in 2005. He missed the 2006 season with a torn left anterior cruciate ligament, then played in all 16 games in 2007.
