DAVIE, Fla. (AP) - Offensive lineman Dallas Thomas of Tennessee has been selected by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the NFL draft.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Thomas was the 77th overall selection Friday. He started at left tackle for two seasons with Tennessee but switched to guard as a senior.
Miami has been in the market for a replacement for Pro Bowl left tackle Jake Long, who departed to the St. Louis Rams via free agency. Trade talks cooled Thursday between the Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs, who have been shopping veteran tackle Branden Albert.
The Dolphins' second-round pick was cornerback Jamar Taylor of Boise State.
