THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - This Friday night, the best high school football players from the Big Bend will battle the best from Southwest Georgia in week two of the annual War of the Border series.
This week will also decide bragging rights, last week's match-up between Valdosta and North Central Florida ended in a tie.
This week, Team Georgia is looking to come out on top, and the boys from the Thomasville-Moultrie area getting ready to do that. Thomasville head coach Zach Grage is in charge of this year's team, and says South Georgia is a different brand of football. They're a tough group and they're looking to show that this Friday night.
"I tell you what we have a great group of kids," he said Tuesday. "I love coming out, and you don't plan on coaching in January, but this side in the state of Georgia, you get that opportunity. It's awesome and it's fun to be around these guys and I'm hoping we can put out a good product on Friday night and enjoy it."
Friday night's "War of the Border" match-up kicks off at 6:30 at Veteran's Memorial Stadium in Thomasville.
