WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 29, 2018) – Defending national champion Tallahassee Community College celebrated another title on Saturday, claiming the prestigious Title IX Classic with an 80-55 win over previously unbeaten Harford (Md.) Community College.

NJCAA No. 3/Region 8 No. 2 Tallahassee completed its non-conference schedule with a record of 18-0, the second straight season it will carry an unblemished mark into Panhandle Conference play. The Eagles have won 23 straight games dating back to last season.

NJCAA No. 22 Harford falls to 14-1.

The game featured two of the top three offenses in the country. Tallahassee entered play with second-highest scoring offense at 99.8 points per game while Harford was third at 94.7 points per game. Neither team approached those numbers thanks to a pair of underrated defenses – both teams entered play allowing under 60 points per game.

Tallahassee led 21-13 after one quarter then all but put the game away with a stifling defensive effort in the second. The Eagles outscored the Owls, 19-5 – Harford's lowest output in a quarter this season and Tallahassee' 15th time holding opponents to single-digits – and led 40-18 at the half.

The Eagles increased their lead to 64-35 through three quarters and eventually held the Owls to their lowest-scoring game of the season. Tallahassee also held Harford's Dahnye Redd, the nation's leading scorer at 23.8 points per game, to just 11 points.

Six players scored in double-figures for the Eagles, led by Jamyra McChristine's 14. Daisha Bradford had 13, Aliyah Lawson tossed in 12, Victoria Pearceand Juliunn Redmond scored 11 each and De'Asia Reid added 10.

Tallahassee will open Panhandle Conference play next Saturday when it welcomes Gulf Coast State College to the Bill Hebrock Eagledome for a 3 p.m. tip.
