PENSACOLA, Fla. (January 19, 2019) – After three straight single-digit defeats to start the Panhandle Conference schedule, NJCAA No. 10/Region 8 No. 4 Tallahassee Community College broke into the win column in a big way on Saturday, defeating No. 25/No. 6 Pensacola State College, 91-56.
The Eagles (19-3) finished the first round of PC play with a 1-3 record, one game behind third-place Chipola College (2-2) and two back of second-place Gulf Coast State College (3-1). Tallahassee travels to Gulf Coast State on Wednesday then hosts Chipola one week from today.
Tallahassee controlled the game throughout, leading 19-9 after the first quarter. Up 27-18, the Eagles scored 12 unanswered points to extend their lead to 21 (39-18) and took a 41-20 lead to the intermission.
Tallahassee started the third quarter with a 10-2 run en route to a 70-33 lead heading to the fourth.
Wednesday's game will tip off at 6:30 p.m.
