TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 19, 2016) - Five players scored in double-figures for Region 8 No. 3 Tallahassee Community College in a 105-67 win over IMG Academy on the final day of play at the Capital Courtyard Classic.
Tallahassee won all three of its games in the event to improve to 6-1.
Freshman forward Japonica James led the quintet of double-figure scorers for Tallahassee with 22 points. Fellow freshman Jas Hill scored 20 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for her first career double-double while sophomore Janessa Murphy also poured in 20.
Lawriell Wilson had 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and Aryn Tarver scored ten points.
Lindsay John dished out nine of the Eagles' 26 assists.
Tallahassee led 24-20 after the first quarter then pulled away in the second, outscoring IMG 26-8 to carry a 50-28 lead to the locker room. The Eagles delivered their highest scoring quarter of the season in the third, putting 37 points on the board and eventually led by as many as 44 points in the fourth.
Mari Hill scored 21 points to lead IMG.
Tallahassee will travel to Athens, Texas, for games on November 25 and 26 at the Budke-Serna Classic, hosted by Trinity Valley Community College.
